Ain’t No River Wide Enough, Or Ocean, Or Pond…
Brit arrived on her doorstep exhausted. She stood still a moment, key in hand, and breathed a sigh. She could hear the meowing coming from the other side. Henry knew she was there. He’d been dropped off that morning by Emma who let Brit know that her cat had been a model puss and was welcome at Casa Cole anytime he wished to visit.
Brit smiled and unlocked the door. She was barely able to get inside before warm gray fur wrapped itself around her ankles. A very loud purr filled her ears sounding like a motorboat revving on high.
“Okay, okay. Let me just put my bags down.” She tried not to trip as she walked into the living room dropping her purse on the coffee table and setting her suitcase on the floor. Henry wasted no time and jumped into her now empty arms. “I missed you, too, Hen!”
