Cara “falls” for Beau…
Cara managed not to slip, trip, or break a single item from the front door to the sitting room. Mrs. Edna Hamilton greeted her warmly, and she knew instantly that she liked the woman. As she followed the lady of the house inside, she noted the fine furnishings, artwork on the walls, and quality of the rugs beneath her booted feet on the hardwood floors. The place was huge. It began to make sense that a person struggling with blindness would need help navigating this house. She’d need a GPS tracker on her cell phone just to get back to the front door.
“In here, dear.” Edna stepped into a small sitting room decorated with wingback chairs. A fire burned in the stone hearth spreading warmth throughout the cozy space.

Cara took in the woman’s countenance. Her graying brown hair was pulled back into a twist, and her dark brown eyes stared back at her with what could only be described as a mom look; that way mothers everywhere gaze at children with that extra-special compassion. It had been a long time since she’d seen that look, and it tugged at Cara’s heart.
“She said you needed help looking after your son? That he’s…um…recently blinded?”
